The Clock Tower was part of former Kowloon Station of Kowloon-Canton Railway since 1915. The main terminus building was demolished in 1978 leaving only the clock tower. It is a landmark from the Age of Steam and has been listed as a declared monument in Hong Kong since 1990.

Known as the "Stone Slab Street" for its unique design, Pottinger Street originally ran from Queen's Road Central to Hollywood Road. Because of its steepness, it was paved, unevenly, with stone slabs to make it easier to ascend and descend and to allow rainwater to flow down either side. In 1858, the government named the Pottinger Street in memory of Hong Kong's first governor.

Now an airy tree-lined pedestrian boulevard with sidewalk cafes and chic boutiques, Lee Tung Avenue used to be Lee Tung Street, known citywide as the place where most of Hong Kong's wedding invitations were designed and printed.

Nostalgia alert! For those born before the 1980s, a walk down Tai Yuen Street is liable to bring on rushes of happy childhood memories. Some of the classic toys that were once made in Hong Kong and placed under Christmas trees around the world have survived here, nestled like treasures among the latest' thingamajigs' that today's kids go wild over. Most toy manufacturing left Hong Kong for Mainland China in the 1980s, but the locals’ passion for kiddie collectables hasn't died on this street, where everything from semi-precious limited edition figurines to the humble bottle of bubbles are available. This is also a great place to pick up festive decorations.
